### What is *Connections: Sports Edition*?
This new daily word game from *The New York Times* has been created in partnership with *The Athletic*, the publication’s sports-centric platform. *Connections: Sports Edition* is playable on both web browsers and mobile devices, where players are tasked with grouping four words that share a common theme.
Each puzzle contains 16 words, categorized into four distinct groups. These categories can vary from book titles to software names, countries, and much more. Although several words might appear to belong together, only one combination is correct.
When a player successfully identifies a group of four related words, those words are removed from the playing field. Conversely, incorrect guesses are counted as errors, and players are permitted up to four mistakes before the game concludes.
To facilitate finding connections, players can rearrange the board. Each category is indicated by a color code, starting with yellow for the easiest, followed by green, blue, and purple. Like *Wordle*, players have the option to share their results via social media.
