What is Connections: Sports Edition?

The NYT‘s newest daily word game, in partnership with The Athletic, invites players to categorize four words sharing a common thread. Connections can be accessed through web browsers and mobile platforms.

Every puzzle features 16 words organized into four groups. These categories can encompass anything from literary titles to nation names. Even if several words seem related, only one correct grouping is present.

Successfully grouping all four words eliminates them from the board. Incorrect answers are counted as mistakes, allowing for up to four before the game concludes.

Players have the option to rearrange and shuffle the grid for easier connection spotting. Each group is distinguished by color: yellow being the simplest, followed by green, blue, and purple. Similar to Wordle, results can be shared on social networks.
