What is Connections: Sports Edition?

The NYT‘s newest daily word game is launched in collaboration with The Athletic, the New York Times source for sports reporting. Connections is available on web browsers and mobile devices, requiring players to group four words that share a commonality.

Every puzzle contains 16 words divided into four categories. These sets may comprise book titles, software, country names, etc. While various words might appear to fit together, there is only one correct solution.

If a player identifies all four words in a set correctly, those words are taken off the board. An incorrect guess counts as a mistake — players have up to four mistakes before the game ends.

Players can rearrange and shuffle the board to facilitate spotting connections. Each group is color-coded with yellow representing the easiest, followed by green, blue, and purple. Like Wordle, you can share your outcomes with friends on social media.
