What is Connections: Sports Edition?
The NYT‘s newest daily word game, introduced in collaboration with The Athletic, the sports coverage division of the New York Times. Connections is playable on web browsers and mobile devices, requiring participants to categorize four words that share a characteristic.

Each puzzle consists of 16 words organized into four groups. These groups can encompass anything from book titles to software names or nation identifiers. While various words may appear to connect, there is only one accurate solution.
If a player successfully identifies all four words within a group, those words are eliminated from the board. An incorrect guess counts as a mistake — players may make up to four mistakes before the game concludes.

Players can reorganize and shuffle the board to identify connections more effectively. Each group is assigned a color: yellow for the easiest, followed by green, blue, and purple. Similar to Wordle, results can be shared on social networks.
