What is Connections: Sports Edition?

The NYT‘s newest daily word game, launched in collaboration with The Athletic, revolves around grouping four words that have something in common. Connections can be played on web browsers and mobile devices.

Each challenge consists of 16 words categorized into four groups. These categories could encompass book titles, software, country names, etc. While several words might appear to fit together, there is only one accurate solution.

If a player successfully recognizes all four words in a category, those words are eliminated from the board. An incorrect guess counts as a mistake, and players can make up to four errors before the game concludes.

Players have the option to rearrange and shuffle the board to discover connections more effectively. Each group is identified by color, with yellow indicating the easiest, followed by green, blue, and purple. Similar to Wordle, results can be shared on social media.
