What is Connections: Sports Edition?

The NYT‘s newest daily word game has been introduced in collaboration with The Athletic, the New York Times’ sports journalism division. Players can access Connections via web browsers and mobile gadgets, needing to categorize four words that share a common thread.

Each puzzle consists of 16 words split into four categories. These groups may range from book titles to software names or country titles. While multiple words may appear to connect, only one correct answer is valid.

If a player successfully identifies all four words in a set, those words are eliminated from the board. An incorrect guess is counted as an error, with players permitted up to four errors before the game concludes.

Gamers have the option to rearrange and shuffle the board to facilitate finding connections. Each category is color-coded, starting with yellow for the simplest, followed by green, blue, and purple. Similar to Wordle, you can share your results with friends through social media.
