What is Connections Sports Edition?

The NYT‘s newest daily word game has been released in partnership with The Athletic, the sports news platform of the New York Times. Connections can be accessed on both web browsers and mobile devices, requiring players to group four words that share a similarity.

Each puzzle comprises 16 words, categorized into four groups. These groups may include anything from book titles, software, names of countries, etc. Even though several words might appear to belong together, only one combination is correct.

If a player successfully identifies all four words in a category, those words are taken off the board. An incorrect guess counts as a mistake—players can make up to four mistakes before the game concludes.

Players have the option to rearrange and shuffle the board to aid in recognizing connections. Moreover, each group is color-coded: yellow indicates the easiest, followed by green, blue, and purple. Much like Wordle, you can share your outcomes with friends on social platforms.
