What is Connections Sports Edition?

The NYT‘s newest daily word game is introduced in partnership with The Athletic, the New York Times platform for sports reporting. Players can enjoy Connections on web browsers and mobile devices, focusing on grouping four words that share a commonality.

Every puzzle consists of 16 words, categorized into four groups. These sets might feature book titles, software, country names, etc. Although several words may appear to connect, there exists only one accurate combination.

If a player successfully groups all four words, they are eliminated from the board. An incorrect guess counts as a mistake—players are allowed up to four mistakes before the game concludes.

Players can rearrange and shuffle the board to identify connections with greater ease. Each group is color-coded, with yellow signifying the simplest, followed by green, blue, and purple. Similar to Wordle, you can share your results with friends via social media.
