What is Connections Sports Edition?

The NYT‘s newest daily word game, introduced alongside The Athletic, a New York Times sports journalism venture, can be accessed via web browsers and mobile devices. Players must categorize four words with a shared characteristic.

Each puzzle comprises 16 words organized into four groups. These collections may comprise book titles, software, country names, etc. Though several words may appear related, only one grouping is correct.

When a player successfully groups all four words, they are eliminated from the board. An incorrect guess is counted as a mistake—players are allowed up to four mistakes before the game concludes.

Players can rearrange and shuffle the board to discover connections more efficiently. Each category is color-coded: yellow indicates the easiest, followed by green, blue, and purple. Similar to Wordle, you can share your results on social media.
