What is Connections Sports Edition?

The NYT‘s most recent daily word game has debuted in collaboration with The Athletic, the New York Times entity that delivers the publication’s sports coverage. Connections is available on both web browsers and mobile devices and requires players to classify four words that have a shared characteristic.

Each puzzle contains 16 words, with each collection of words categorized into four groups. These sets may encompass anything from book titles, software applications, country names, etc. While several words may appear to fit together, there is only one right solution.

If a player correctly identifies all four words in a group, those words are eliminated from the board. Guess incorrectly, and it counts as an error—players are allowed up to four errors before the game concludes.

Players can also rearrange and shuffle the board to facilitate the identification of connections. Furthermore, each group is color-coded with yellow being the simplest, followed by green, blue, and purple. Like Wordle, you can share your results with friends on social platforms.
