What is Connections: Sports Edition?

The NYT‘s newest daily word game, initiated in collaboration with The Athletic, the New York Times’ platform for sports reporting, can be accessed on web and mobile devices. Participants are required to group four words that share a common connection.

Each puzzle features 16 words split into four categories. These groups could range from book names to software or country titles. Even though several words may appear to be fitting together, only one correct combination exists.

If a player successfully identifies all four words in a set, those words are eliminated from the board. A wrong guess is considered a mistake — players may make up to four mistakes before the game concludes.

Players have the ability to reposition and shuffle the board to simplify finding connections. Furthermore, each category is color-coded: yellow represents the easiest, followed by green, blue, and purple. Similar to Wordle, you can share your results with friends on social media.
