What is Connections: Sports Edition?

The NYT‘s newest daily word game, in partnership with The Athletic, invites players to cluster four words sharing a common connection. Connections can be played on web browsers and mobile devices.

Each puzzle consists of 16 words divided into four groups. These groups can encompass anything from book titles to software names. While many words may appear connected, there is only one correct grouping.

Selecting all four words in a group correctly will remove them from the board. Incorrect selections count as errors, with a maximum of four mistakes allowed before the game concludes.

Players can rearrange the board for easier identification of connections. Each group is color-coded: yellow represents the easiest, followed by green, blue, and purple. Similar to Wordle, results can be shared on social platforms.
