What is Connections: Sports Edition?

The NYT‘s newest daily word game has been unveiled in partnership with The Athletic, the sports journalism arm of the New York Times. Connections can be accessed via web browsers and mobile devices, requiring players to connect four words that share a relationship.

Every puzzle consists of 16 words, categorized into four groups. These categories may encompass book titles, software, country names, and more. While numerous words could appear to relate, there is only one accurate combination.

Upon successfully identifying all four words in a category, those words are eliminated from the board. An incorrect guess counts as a mistake — players are allowed up to four mistakes before the game concludes.

Players can reorder and shuffle the board to more easily identify connections. Each group is assigned a color code, with yellow signifying the easiest, followed by green, blue, and purple. As with Wordle, you can share your results with friends on social media.
