What is Connections: Sports Edition?
The NYT‘s newest daily word game, created in collaboration with The Athletic, evaluates sports knowledge. Connections can be accessed via web browsers and mobile devices, asking players to categorize four words that share a common connection.

Each puzzle consists of 16 words split into four categories. These groups may encompass anything from book titles to names of countries. While several words might appear related, there is only one correct grouping.
If a player successfully groups all four words, those words are cleared away. An incorrect guess counts as a mistake — players are allowed up to four mistakes before the game concludes.

Players have the option to rearrange and shuffle the board to uncover connections more efficiently. Each category is color-coded: yellow is the easiest, followed by green, blue, and purple. Similar to Wordle, you can share your results on social platforms.
