What is Connections: Sports Edition?

The NYT‘s newest daily word challenge, in collaboration with The Athletic, New York Times’ sports news outlet, is now accessible. Connections can be enjoyed on web browsers and mobile gadgets, requiring players to group four words with a shared connection.

Each puzzle consists of 16 words organized into four categories. These groups may encompass book titles, software names, country identifiers, etc. Although some words may appear linked, only one correct pairing exists.

If a player successfully identifies all four words in a group, those words are eliminated from the board. Incorrect guesses are considered mistakes — players are allowed up to four errors before the game concludes.

Players have the option to rearrange and shuffle the board to identify connections with greater ease. Each group is color-coded: yellow signifies the easiest, followed by green, blue, and purple. Similar to Wordle, you can share your results with friends on social platforms.
