What is Connections Sports Edition?

The NYT‘s newest daily word game has been introduced in partnership with The Athletic, the New York Times outlet for sports journalism. Connections can be accessed on both web browsers and mobile devices, requiring players to categorize four words that share a likeness.

Every puzzle consists of 16 words, separated into four groups. These collections may range from book titles to software, country names, and more. Even though various words may appear to fit together, there’s only one accurate solution.

If a player successfully identifies all four words in a group, those words are cleared from the board. An incorrect guess counts as a mistake—players are permitted up to four errors before the game concludes.

Players also have the option to rearrange and shuffle the board to facilitate discovering connections. Moreover, each group is distinguished by color, with yellow being the simplest, followed by green, blue, and purple. Similar to Wordle, you can share your results with friends on social media.
