How to play Pips

If you’ve played dominoes previously, you’ll grasp the fundamental mechanics of Pips. As indicated in our prior hints for Pips, the tiles, akin to dominoes, are arranged vertically or horizontally and interconnect. The primary distinction from conventional dominoes lies in the color-coded criteria you must fulfill. The adjacent tiles don’t necessarily have to correspond.

The requirements you need to satisfy are related to the color-coded sections. For example, if a single digit is indicated, each side of a tile within that section must sum up to the specified digit. It’s entirely plausible – and typical – for only a portion of a tile to occupy a color-coded section.

Here are typical scenarios you’ll face across the difficulty levels:

• Number: All the pips in this area must total the indicated number.

• Equal: Every domino half in this area must display the same number of pips.

• Not Equal: Each domino half in this area must have distinctly different numbers of pips.

• Less than: Each domino half in this area must total less than the indicated number.

• Greater than: Each domino half in this area must total more than the given number.

If an area is devoid of color coding, there are no stipulations regarding the segments of dominoes contained within those sections.
