For years, accessing manga online through legal means has required juggling multiple subscriptions across different publisher-specific applications or relying on sketchy fan-scan websites to keep up with the latest. Now, Crunchyroll is streamlining the experience and possibly helping you save money.
Today, the anime powerhouse revealed that Crunchyroll Manga, a new premium addition for manga enthusiasts, will debut on October 9, 2025, for iOS and Android users in the U.S. and Canada, with a web version set to arrive on October 15.
This new service offers an ad-free environment with hundreds of titles from leading publishers such as VIZ Media, Square Enix, Yen Press, AlphaPolis, and more, all consolidated in one location.
The initial offerings span a wide range of genres and levels of excitement, featuring titles like One Piece, Jujutsu Kaisen, Daemons of the Shadow Realm, Delicious in Dungeon, The Summer Hikaru Died, The Apothecary Diaries, My Dress-Up Darling, and several digital-first titles previously unpublished online. Nevertheless, the press release indicates that these initial titles may change.
Crunchyroll Manga will operate as a separate application, developed by Japan’s Link-U Group, distinct from Crunchyroll’s anime streaming service.
In terms of pricing, if you’re subscribed to Crunchyroll’s Ultimate Fan plan ($15.99/month), the manga feature will be accessible at no additional charge.
For subscribers on lower-tier plans, the Manga add-on incurs an extra fee:
– Fan + Manga is $11.99/month, which combines the $7.99 Fan tier with a $4 manga add-on.
– Mega Fan + Manga is $15.49/month, with the add-on priced at a discounted rate of $3.50.
Crunchyroll confirms that all subscription levels will provide unlimited, ad-free reading on mobile, tablet, and web platforms. Capabilities include offline downloads, light and dark viewing modes, complete two-page spreads, and the option to devise a personalized reading list complete with tailored suggestions.
With additional publishers like Shueisha and J-Novel Club expected to join post-launch, the platform could evolve into a comprehensive source for digital manga without reliance on unreliable pop-ups.
