OnePlus 13 and 13R Scheduled for Release in January, Targeting Competition with Samsung

OnePlus is preparing to capture attention away from Samsung’s significant announcements this year. The firm has set the launch of its newest flagship smartphone, the **OnePlus 13**, for **January 7**—two weeks ahead of the (rumored) release of **Samsung’s Galaxy S25 series**.

The OnePlus 13, which made its debut in China last October, showcases an impressive array of specifications. It sports a **6.82-inch display**, operates on Qualcomm’s advanced **Snapdragon 8 Elite chip**, and is equipped with a **triple 50-megapixel camera system**. The device also includes a substantial **6,000mAh battery**, offers **12GB or 24GB of RAM**, and provides multiple storage options of **256GB, 512GB, or even 1TB**. While minor differences may exist in the international edition, the main focus of the January 7 event is anticipated to be the pricing of the phone.

But there’s more—OnePlus has another surprise in store. In addition to the OnePlus 13, the company will present the **OnePlus 13R**, a more budget-friendly and slightly less robust variant. The OnePlus 13R will utilize the **Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip** and will come preloaded with a range of AI-enhanced features.

Among the notable features of the OnePlus 13R is its **6,000mAh battery**, which is on par with the flagship version. In terms of design, the 13R closely mirrors the OnePlus 13 and will be offered in two color variants: **Nebula Noir** and **Astral Trail**.

Furthermore, OnePlus intends to launch a new color variant for its **OnePlus Buds Pro 3** at the event. The earbuds will now be offered in a stylish **Sapphire Blue** finish.

The launch event is scheduled to commence at **10:30 a.m. ET on January 7**, so don’t forget to mark your calendars and stay tuned for further updates!
