Attention Oura Ring users: A fresh app experience is on the horizon. On Oct. 20, the fitness technology company revealed that the Oura app will be revamped in the next few weeks. Moreover, Oura is rolling out cumulative stress metrics and other enhancements together with the redesign.
The revamped Oura app
Oura has not released a specific date for the new app design. The company indicated that the new interface will be launched globally in the upcoming weeks, so anticipate a refreshed in-app appearance shortly.

The Oura interface is receiving an update, keeping the existing three tabs: Today, Vitals, and My Health. It will continue to provide all the same health metrics and data, but in an updated format.
The new app design showcases a more cohesive layout, according to Oura. Rather than having separate sections for each biometric, there will be an improved flow among categories. The backdrop will feature tranquil natural environments, elevating the overall calming app experience.
The My Health tab has seen the most substantial revision, now offering a summary of long-term health metrics at the top of the screen before diving into details such as resilience, heart health, and sleep health.
An update to Cycle Insights

Cycle Insights, which monitors and supports reproductive health, is one of the most sought-after features in the Oura app. The updated app design will now allow for a 12-month overview of forecasted periods and fertile windows. Previously, users had to wait for 60 nights to access personalized cycle phase data, but this information will now be accessible after just one night’s sleep.
Oura introduces Cumulative Stress

Oura evaluates daily stressors and users’ long-term resilience to stress, but a new measurement is on the way. Cumulative Stress will now track chronic, long-term stress. This new metric will be derived from five elements: sleep continuity, heart stress-response, sleep micromotions, temperature regulation, and activity impact.
Cumulative Stress can be monitored on a new Stress Management page, where users can view it together with Daytime Stress and Resilience.

Oura is seeking FDA approval for blood pressure insights
In addition to the upcoming app redesign and Cumulative Stress feature, Oura is also pursuing blood pressure insights. The company has obtained permission from an Institutional Review Board to commence a study on blood pressure insights within Oura Labs, an initial step toward potentially acquiring FDA approval for a future blood pressure feature.
Oura Labs serves as the brand’s center for testing experimental features prior to their official release. Users can beta test features and give feedback before they are officially launched.
The blood pressure study conducted in Oura Labs merges Oura health data with details from a user questionnaire addressing family history, medications, and lifestyle choices. Participants in Oura Labs will receive one of three assessments for hypertension—no signs, moderate signs, or significant signs. Oura states, “the Blood Pressure Profile Study will be used to refine and validate a future feature for submission to the FDA for clearance.”
UPDATE: Oct. 20, 2025, 3:28 p.m. EDT This article has been revised to provide clarity on the status and availability of the blood pressure study in Oura Labs.
