Poker Faces New York Pop-Up Invites You to Test Your Bluffing Skills for a Reward

To commemorate the second season of Poker Face, enthusiasts of the acclaimed mystery show can now literally immerse themselves in Charlie Cale’s universe, thanks to an exclusive pop-up event in New York City.

Charlie Cale, portrayed by Natasha Lyonne, is the lie-detecting traveler central to the narrative, often making pit stops at gas stations during her journeys across the country. Therefore, it’s only natural that the latest promotional venture for the series is held at a gas station. Specifically, the Mobil Station & Smacking Burger located at 51-63 Eighth Avenue has been reimagined as “Charlie Cale’s Back on Her BLSH*T Rest Stop,” reflecting Charlie’s trademark exclamation when she uncovers deceit.

The pop-up is accessible to the public on May 9 from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. ET, and again on May 10 from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. ET.

What to Anticipate at the Poker Face Pop-Up

The engaging experience aims to transport fans directly into Charlie’s realm. Attendees can enter the gas station — just as Charlie has done repeatedly throughout the show — and enjoy a complimentary burger. Both vegetarian and meat options are offered, each accompanied by a “side of lies” (fries included).

Inside, the station showcases clips from Season 2 and displays vintage-style postcards inspired by the program’s guest stars. Some of these characters have already been featured in the initial three episodes of the season, including Cynthia Erivo’s DeDe and John Mulaney’s FBI agent Daniel. Others, like those portrayed by Alia Shawkat and Kumail Nanjiani, remain a mystery.

Outside the station, fans have the opportunity to take pictures with a classic 1968 Plymouth Barracuda — the very model driven by Charlie in the series. (Fortunately, no mobsters are in sight.)

Put Your Lie-Detecting Abilities to the Test

A key highlight of the event is a lie-detection challenge that allows participants to tap into their inner Charlie. Staff will present attendees with a series of true-or-false inquiries, and it’s up to you to detect the lies — or as Charlie would put it, “bullshit.” It’s a rare opportunity to exclaim “bullshit!” at someone in public and earn accolades for it.

Winners can receive exclusive merchandise, including Poker Face-themed trucker hats and keychains. To improve your chances, it may be beneficial to familiarize yourself with Poker Face trivia before attending.

Are you ready to hit the road? This pop-up is an essential stop for fans of the show — and a delightful way to celebrate the comeback of one of television’s most cherished amateur detectives.

The first three episodes of Poker Face Season 2 are currently streaming on Peacock, with new episodes released every Thursday.
