Your top vacuum brands
Dyson and iRobot topped the list of vacuum brands among Mashable readers, with Dyson slightly surpassing iRobot in terms of overall satisfaction (7.6 compared to 7.4 out of 10). Reliability and user-friendliness
iRobot Roomba received higher scores in reliability (7.7 versus 6.1) and user-friendliness (7.9 against 5.9) compared to Dyson. One respondent remarked about their Roomba, “It’s a straightforward, feature-light, budget-friendly smart vacuum robot; however, this simplicity makes it appealing to many, including myself, as it’s easier to handle than more complex systems.”
Cleaning efficiency
Our survey indicated that Roomba excels in cleaning performance among the brands (although our vacuum expert swears by her Dyson stick vacuum). A survey participant who owns a Roomba stated that it cleans effectively and they prefer it over a conventional vacuum.
Another shared, “I’ve had the Roomba for over five years and couldn’t be more pleased. I use it nearly every other day — it has never required repairs. I’m very happy with it. I wish I had another.”
Willingness to recommend
Despite clear inclinations in certain scoring categories, the overall willingness to recommend was almost equal for our readers’ top two brands. Dyson achieved a score of 7.3, while iRobot received 7.2. According to our in-house vacuum expert, both brands are excellent choices to consider for your cleaning toolkit.
