Here’s some positive news: Walmart currently offers both the Nintendo Switch 2 console and the Nintendo Switch 2 + Mario Kart World Bundle. However, there’s a catch. These consoles are available through third-party sellers at marked-up prices. The bundle, which usually costs $499, is now listed at $749 by “GAMES FOR US.” The console by itself, typically priced at $449, is now set at $672, marking a $223 hike.
Walmart indicates that only six bundles remain, with a purchase limit of one per order. The standalone console is also in restricted stock. This marks the first occasion since June 6, when Target initiated online sales, that a Switch 2 listing features an “Add to cart” button.
While we at Mashable do not endorse supporting price gougers, this development is significant for our daily Switch 2 restock tracker. We anticipated this, as resellers had begun posting the Switch 2 on platforms such as eBay even prior to its release. It seemed inevitable that third-party sellers would soon hike prices.
Following the June 5 launch, Nintendo revealed sales of 3.5 million units within a week, surpassing expectations. Given the high demand and limited stock, this scenario was bound to arise.
