Reddit Experienced a Significant Outage on Thursday
On Thursday afternoon, Reddit users faced extensive difficulties in accessing the platform. The disruption started sometime between 3 and 4 p.m. ET and, at the time of this report, is still ongoing.
Tens of thousands of individuals reported experiencing issues on Down Detector—a website that monitors service interruptions across the internet. (Note: Ziff Davis owns both Mashable and Down Detector.) This reporter can also verify that Reddit is currently unreachable on both desktop and mobile devices.
Interestingly, the Reddit outage coincided with a comparable disruption on X (formerly known as Twitter), although that issue seems to have been fixed more rapidly.
This is an evolving story and will be updated as more details emerge.
