With Samsung Galaxy Unpacked just around the corner, fresh insights have surfaced regarding the anticipated Galaxy Watch 8 series. In keeping with Samsung’s pattern, leaks have been plentiful ahead of the July 9 Unpacked event.
French website Dealabs has disclosed the purported complete specifications (via 9to5Google) for three new Galaxy Watch variants: the Galaxy Watch 8, Galaxy Watch 8 Classic, and a 2025 iteration of the Galaxy Watch Ultra. This appears to validate speculation that Samsung is bringing back the version featuring a conventional watch design coupled with a clicking, rotating bezel, previously seen in the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic series in 2023.
Samsung Galaxy Unpacked is scheduled for Wednesday, July 9, where the company is also anticipated to unveil new iterations of foldables, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Z Fold 7, and potentially some fresh Galaxy AI functionalities. Speculation also indicates a possible preview of the Project Moohan XR headset teased in January.
Galaxy Watch 8: The suspected specifications
Among the revised specifications disclosed in the latest leak, both the Classic and Ultra possess a doubled storage capacity of 64GB. The standard Galaxy Watch 8 maintains the same 32GB storage as the 7 series introduced last year. Samsung is set to offer the Watch 8 in 40 and 44 mm dial sizes, the Classic in 46 mm, and the Ultra in 47 mm, according to the leak. Reportedly, all three models will include 2GB of RAM and utilize the same Exynos W1000 chipset as the 7 series, so significant enhancements in processing power should not be expected.
The leak also specified the various watch bands provided. The Galaxy 8 comes equipped with a silicone band, the Classic features a “Premium Hybrid Strap,” said to be a combination of leather and silicone or rubber, and the Ultra version includes the “Extreme Sports Bracelet,” crafted from the same material as last year’s Ultra.
Galaxy Watch 8: The anticipated prices
What will the Samsung Galaxy Watches cost? According to the leak, the Watch 8 and Watch 8 Classic will experience a price hike of about 20 percent from last year’s models, while the Ultra is expected to remain roughly the same in price.
The disclosed prices are in Euros, so they will not align precisely with dollars, but the price breakdown is as follows:
– Samsung Galaxy Watch 8:
– 40 mm: €379.99 with WiFi, €429.99 with WiFi and 4G
