Rockstar Unveils the Creation Process Behind the GTA 6 Trailer and Provides Numerous Screenshots

The last week has been quite the adventure for enthusiasts anxiously anticipating Grand Theft Auto VI.

It all commenced last Friday when Rockstar Games revealed a postponement for the eagerly awaited title, rescheduling its launch to mid-2026. Just a few days later, on Tuesday, the studio astonished fans with a second trailer filled with narrative components and breathtaking imagery of the game’s environment—an incredibly realistic rendition of Vice City. Then, on Wednesday, Rockstar unveiled another significant detail: the entire trailer was recorded on a standard PlayStation 5 console, showcasing an even distribution of gameplay and cinematic sequences.

This discovery is a delightful surprise. For months, rumors have circulated online that the ambitious nature of GTA VI might surpass the capabilities of current consoles. However, the reality that such visually striking footage was produced on a standard PS5 provides comfort to gamers who were anxious about needing to upgrade to a PS5 Pro to experience the game.

Regarding the trailer, it remains somewhat ambiguous which segments depict gameplay and which are cinematic cutscenes. While the majority of the footage seems to be pre-rendered, certain sequences—such as characters driving cars, airboats, and jet-skis—could very well be in-game actions. Nevertheless, without the conventional third-person gameplay camera perspectives, it’s challenging to identify definitively what constitutes real-time gameplay.

Alongside the trailer, Rockstar also shared a vast array of 70 screenshots on its official website. While we can’t display them all here, we’ve highlighted a few remarkable images below:

– Vice City illuminated at dusk.
– An enigmatic location that certainly isn’t Vice City.
– An energetic Miami-style party atmosphere.
– Lucia Caminos behind bars.
– Cal Hampton in a reflective moment.
– A new character known as DreQuan Priest.
– Another fresh face, Raul Bautista.
– Leonida Keys, who radiates strong “Florida Woman” vibes.

With over 60 additional screenshots available, there’s much to discover. If you find yourself with some free time, it’s worthwhile to delve into the complete gallery and envision what lies ahead—if only the game were debuting this month rather than next year.
