Samsung allocated a significant portion of its recent [Galaxy Unpacked](https://mashable.com/article/samsung-galaxy-unpacked-2025-everything-you-need-to-know) event to highlighting its newest AI features. It was approximately 30 minutes into the presentation before the company finally introduced the new Galaxy S25 smartphone lineup—only to promptly redirect attention back to the AI functionalities embedded in the devices.
Nonetheless, in spite of Samsung’s focus on AI, the true excitement from the event centers around a surprise announcement at the very conclusion: the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge.
Information regarding this ultra-slim smartphone is limited. Samsung merely provided a short teaser video, which disclosed no specific details about the Galaxy S25 Edge.

However, speculation has been rampant regarding this stylish device. It is believed that the Galaxy S25 Edge will measure just 6.4mm in thickness, rendering it the slimmest Galaxy smartphone to date. Though it is yet to be determined if the Edge’s slender design will influence its performance or features when compared to the other S25 models, it is reasonable to assume it will incorporate the same cutting-edge AI capabilities as the rest of the series.

The Galaxy S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra are already up for pre-order and are expected to launch on February 7. Nevertheless, the S25 Edge still lacks a confirmed release date. Current conjecture suggests a possible launch in May 2025.
At this moment, the only official preview of the S25 Edge originates from Samsung’s teaser video, which makes one fact clearly evident: this phone is exceptionally slim.
