Tensions are escalating in Apple TV+’s sci-fi comedy *Murderbot*.
At the end of episode 4, Murderbot (Alexander Skarsgård) realized that hostile SecUnits from an unidentified enemy had commandeered it using a combat override module, which would have forced it to destroy the PresAux research team. To avert this, it shot itself. But rest assured, Murderbot is still alive and kicking — or at least alive.
In an exclusive sneak peek from the forthcoming episode 5, titled “Rogue War Tracker Infinite,” Murderbot is being looked after by the PresAux team. This includes the ever-skeptical Gurathin (David Dastmalchian), who appears to have accessed Murderbot’s internal data while it was incapacitated from its injury. Could he have found out that Murderbot has compromised its governor module?
He has certainly uncovered one of Murderbot’s other mysteries: its fixation on the space soap opera *The Rise and Fall of Sanctuary Moon*. In the clip, PresAux’s Ratthi (Akshay Khanna) interrogates Murderbot about its knowledge of the show’s most intricate details, much to Gurathin’s annoyance. (He considers the show “garbage,” but it may not be wise to admit that in front of Murderbot.)
With their newfound insights into Murderbot’s viewing preferences, how long until PresAux reveals the remainder of Murderbot’s secrets?
*Murderbot* is currently streaming on Apple TV+, with new episodes released every Friday.
