**Seth Meyers Ridicules Trump and Musk’s Tesla Advertisement at the White House**
*Late Night* host Seth Meyers has once again targeted President Donald Trump and Tesla CEO Elon Musk, lampooning what he referred to as their “cringeworthy and desperate infomercial” for Tesla cars at the White House. In his segment, Meyers pointed out numerous previous occasions where Trump openly derided electric vehicles.
On Tuesday, Tesla established a private display on the White House lawn, where Trump theatrically purchased a **Model S Plaid**. This initiative seemed to be a calculated move to elevate Tesla’s dwindling stock values while simultaneously showing allegiance to Musk, a close confidant of the president. However, as Meyers noted, this public support contradicted Trump’s long-held stance against electric cars.
“Not only was this grossly corrupt,” Meyers quipped, “but the whole operation hinges on Trump persuading his MAGA followers to buy Teslas—after spending months campaigning by telling them, ‘Electric vehicles are terrible.'”
To stress the irony, Meyers aired a series of clips of Trump belittling EVs, asserting they “don’t travel far,” “are very expensive,” and “fail in cold weather.” He then mockingly responded to footage of a previous Trump rally crowd booing electric vehicles: “Oh sure, these folks sound like they’re eager to purchase a Tesla.”
Meyers’ recent commentary highlights the inconsistency in Trump’s messaging and raises doubts about the genuineness of his newfound excitement for electric cars.
