Seth Meyers Pays Tribute to Rob Reiner, Rebukes Trump for His Message

Seth Meyers allocated a segment on Monday’s *Late Night* show to unite with the film and television industry in honoring Rob Reiner and his wife Michele, who were discovered deceased at their residence on Sunday. Similar to Jimmy Kimmel, Meyers also addressed Donald Trump, whose comments about Reiner on Truth Social have faced substantial backlash. “I suspected this was something he would do, and I was quite sure it would cast a pall over what was already a very grim day, but it turned out to be even worse than I had anticipated,” Meyers states in the clip above. “The president centered it on himself, as he is unable to focus on anything else.” Meyers wraps up by sharing his own encounters with Reiner and his respect for the director’s contributions. “Both his work that I was fortunate enough to experience, and the few occasions I had to engage with him personally, he was a man who exemplified excellence,” Meyers remarks. “And there’s immense worth in that. We must do all we can to ensure that setting an example does not become a lost art. So I just want to extend my condolences to the Reiner family and simply say Michele and Rob, may you rest in peace.”
