Seth Meyers Reacts to Trump’s Strained Meeting with Apple CEO Tim Cook

After allocating an extra $100 billion towards U.S. domestic manufacturing in reaction to Donald Trump’s tariff threats against the company, Apple CEO Tim Cook joined the president for a press event at the White House. At the event, Cook gifted Trump a personalized glass plaque mounted on a 24-carat gold base.

“Not only is it humiliating for Cook, but I assure you Trump won’t recall what that is or who gifted it,” remarks Seth Meyers in the Late Night segment above. “In just a week, he’ll flip that thing on its side and use it as a plate for one of his Big Macs.”

The strained meeting wrapped up with Trump offering Cook a compliment that swiftly morphed into an insult. “I want to thank Tim Cook, he’s a tremendous, tremendous man, a visionary, a businessman, just about every quality you can possess…except for athleticism,” he told the press.

“You’re mocking his physical appearance?” asks Meyers. “Did you also attach a ‘kick me’ sign on his back?”
