Saturday Night Live embraced its hallmark style of uniquely specific game show parodies again this week, introducing a fresh sketch called “So Like…What Are We?” featuring host Mikey Madison in a pivotal role.
In this sketch, Madison portrays Molly Wilson, a woman intent on seeking clarity regarding her vague relationship — live on national television. Her hesitant co-contestant is Jeremy (from Hinge, no less), played by cast member Michael Longfellow. Jeremy claims he’s recently out of a serious relationship and certainly not interested in anything significant.
“That’s not the right answer,” Madison retorts, before delivering the punchline: “That’ll cost you ten thousand dollars from your personal bank account.”
The sketch amusingly mocks contemporary dating trends, with Madison grilling Jeremy not only about commitment but also regarding some dubious late-night messages — including one that states “link up” and another that announces “daddy is hungry for butt.”
Ultimately, the sketch leaves audiences pondering whether remaining single might indeed be the wiser choice after all.
