SNL Weekend Update Talks About George Santos Pardon and Exposed Young Republicans Group Chat

Weekend Update, presented by Colin Jost and Michael Che, is a cornerstone of Saturday Night Live.

This week’s edition highlighted several stories, including the presidential pardon granted to former Republican representative George Santos, Politico’s revelations regarding a leaked derogatory Young Republicans group chat, and the most recent peculiar statements and actions from President Trump.

Jost remarked, “Trump told journalists, ‘I don’t think there’s anything that will get me into heaven.'” He went on, “Then he paused for a whole ten minutes waiting for someone to say, ‘That’s not accurate.'” Jost further remarked, “Because Trump can’t enter heaven. He’s too occupied here managing hell.”

The segment also brought up Los Angeles Dodgers star Shohei Ohtani, who propelled his team to a decisive NLCS triumph against the Milwaukee Brewers by hitting three home runs and throwing six scoreless innings with ten strikeouts.

Jost teased, “It’s an accomplishment previously only achieved by George Santos.”
