Elon Musk is stepping away from his role at the helm of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), following a strange press conference with Donald Trump in the Oval Office last week. On Monday night, Stephen Colbert from The Late Show tackled the pressing concern: Musk’s black eye, which he blamed on playful roughhousing with his son, X Æ A-12.
“The most peculiar aspect of this unusual meeting was Elon’s appearance, sporting a black eye,” Colbert noted. “Oh dear! If only there was someone in the White House with access to cosmetics!”
Nevertheless, Colbert questioned whether X was responsible, encouraging the audience to think twice while dressed in Sherlock Holmes attire.
“What’s the reason for the black eye? Who harbors enough disdain for Elon Musk to strike him? I might not be Sherlock Holmes, but could it be…EVERYONE?”
