Look! Up in the sky! It’s the official full-length trailer for James Gunn’s Superman reboot.

James Gunn is well-acquainted with the DC universe. After gaining praise with works like The Suicide Squad and Peacemaker, he’s now taking charge of the Man of Steel. This upcoming Superman film represents the first feature from DC Studios, which Gunn co-leads with producer Peter Safran. Consequently, it provides our clearest view yet into the future of DC’s cinematic realm.

David Corenswet takes on the role of Clark Kent/Superman, wearing the legendary red cape and blue suit to advocate for truth, justice, and the American way. However, not everyone supports his valiant stance. His involvement in an international crisis ignites controversy, resulting in a charged exchange with fearless reporter — and love interest — Lois Lane, portrayed by Rachel Brosnahan. Simultaneously, a bald and sinister Lex Luthor, played by Nicholas Hoult, is plotting to take Superman down.

The trailer also showcases a variety of familiar DC characters, including Green Lantern Guy Gardner (Nathan Fillion), Hawkgirl (Isabela Merced), Mister Terrific (Edi Gathegi), Jimmy Olsen (Skyler Gisondo), and the Engineer (María Gabriela de Faría). But the real showstopper? Krypto the Superdog. Whether he’s springing into action in the Fortress of Solitude or playfully flopping onto Superman, Krypto’s allure might just eclipse everyone else.
