Take this iPhone 17 camera leak with a grain of salt.

Apple’s iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max may come with surprising enhancements to their cameras. As reported by MacRumors, a source acquainted with an upcoming Apple iPhone advertisement in the works reveals new functionalities. The anticipated iPhone Pro models are speculated to feature a revamped telephoto lens, offering up to 8x optical zoom, an increase from the 5x found in the iPhone 16 Pro models. A newly added Camera Control button on the top edge of the device is also anticipated, facilitating quick access to the camera. This button would exist alongside the current Camera Control button located on the bottom right, which was introduced with the iPhone 16 models. Furthermore, Apple might debut a new camera application aimed at professionals for capturing photos and videos, similar to applications such as Halide, Kino, and Filmic Pro. This application could either be released as a standalone option or as an enhancement to the existing Final Cut Camera app. These insights are unofficial and should be regarded with skepticism. The introduction of an additional Camera Control button appears improbable, as this represents a considerable hardware alteration that has not been referenced in earlier leaks. Nevertheless, the forthcoming iPhones are expected to feature a reimagined camera system, hinting at possible upgrades. Reports suggest that the Pro models will incorporate a triple 48-megapixel camera along with enhancements in video recording. Apple is anticipated to officially unveil the new devices in September.
