A glimpse of Google’s revamped Google Home app reveals that Gemini will be a central element as the firm incorporates artificial intelligence into its latest offerings. The forthcoming Google Home v3.41.50.3 update is set to bring a significant UI overhaul, as reported by Android Authority. The application will showcase Gemini and Gemini Live, allowing users to completely automate their Google Home configurations with the AI assistant. The new Ask Home search feature will enable users to control their devices, automations, and receive environmental feedback on a newly designed “favorites” page. Additionally, new tiles for video and thermometer extensions, updated icons, streamlined pages, and privacy notices regarding Gemini Home’s data gathering are part of the update.
Google is poised to unveil a new array of smart products in October, including a Nest speaker equipped with integrated Gemini, a fresh Nest doorbell, and a range of Nest cameras for a holistic smart home experience. In April, Google declared that it would discontinue support for the first and second-generation Nest Thermostats to concentrate on newer hardware.
Alongside hardware enhancements, Google Home users can look forward to innovative AI-driven functionalities, such as daily summaries and AI-generated event descriptions, initially revealed at the company’s Made by Google event in August.
