**The Phoenician Scheme Teaser: Wes Anderson Presents Charming Worldwide Suspense**

Prepare yourself for an exciting preview of Wes Anderson’s newest film venture, The Phoenician Scheme.

The Oscar-winning director known for Asteroid City and The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar brings us a fresh narrative that intertwines global espionage, surprising familial relationships, and a number of knife-wielding nuns. At the forefront of the cast is Benicio del Toro portraying Zsa-zsa Korda, one of Europe’s richest individuals—who also possesses a peculiar knack for surviving plane crashes.

In the film’s initial trailer, we discover that Zsa-zsa is the parent of nine sons and one daughter, Liesel (played by Mia Threapleton), a nun. After a six-year separation, Zsa-zsa reconnects with Liesel to reveal that she is now the sole heir to his wealth—and that she may receive it sooner than she anticipates.

“I have my motives,” Zsa-zsa informs her.

“And what are those?” she inquires.

“My motives? I’m not disclosing,” he answers. “I mean I’m not disclosing.”

This type of clever, looping dialogue is characteristic of Anderson’s approach, and the trailer is filled with it—alongside his trademark visual style, which features symmetrical layouts, intricate set designs, and seamless tracking shots.

The plot revolves around Zsa-zsa’s grand new project: the Korda Land and Sea Phoenician Infrastructure Scheme, an ambitious undertaking he considers the crowning achievement of his career. However, not everyone is supportive. Confronting opposition from competing industry magnates, Zsa-zsa recruits Liesel and their quirky educator Bjorn (Michael Cera) to help realize his dream.

What ensues is a whirlwind of mayhem and humor, showcasing everything from nightclub thefts and hand grenades to Tom Hanks effortlessly sinking three-pointers.

The film features a star-studded cast, including both returning Anderson regulars and fresh talents: Riz Ahmed, Tom Hanks, Bryan Cranston, Mathieu Amalric, Richard Ayoade, Jeffrey Wright, Scarlett Johansson, Benedict Cumberbatch, Rupert Friend, and Hope Davis.

The Phoenician Scheme hits theaters on May 30.
