Can art and commerce coexist harmoniously in contemporary cinema? Is it feasible for a film to be both a critical sensation and a commercial success? These are the challenges confronting the newly appointed head of Continental Studios, Matt Remick (Seth Rogen), in AppleTV+’s forthcoming Hollywood satire, *The Studio*.

In the trailer above, Matt struggles with his new position. “I adore movies,” he reveals to producer Patty Leigh (Catherine O’Hara). “Yet now I am filled with this dread that my job is to sabotage them.”

Patty gives it to him straight: “The job is a meat grinder.”

The trailer captures the pandemonium of Hollywood, illustrating chaotic film shoots, outrageous awards shows, and a lineup of celebrity appearances. Martin Scorsese and Ice Cube hold discussions with Matt. *Past Lives* star Greta Lee and *Women Talking* director Sarah Polley lose their composure when he interferes with an essential scene. Olivia Wilde and Zoë Kravitz experience full-blown breakdowns. And that’s merely the start.

However, *The Studio* is not just a glittering array of stars—it’s also a keen commentary on the struggles confronting the current film landscape.

Alongside Rogen and O’Hara, the series includes Kathryn Hahn, Ike Barinholtz, Chase Sui Wonders, Bryan Cranston, Keyla Monterroso Mejia, and Dewayne Perkins.
