Threads Allegedly Hits an Amazing 275 Million Users

People appear to be enjoying [Threads](https://mashable.com/article/meta-threads-beat-twitter-x). At the very least, they are registering and actively participating.

Adam Mosseri, who oversees both [Instagram](https://mashable.com/category/instagram) and Threads, [shared on Sunday night](https://www.threads.net/@mosseri/post/DB6zNlQSsJN?xmt=AQGzOBo-JlbZvb0-easrlJcfCpgs93qY-Wmfjt2uJqLFCw) that Threads has achieved 275 million monthly active users.

“A huge thank you to everyone who has contributed to our progress. There’s still a lot to accomplish and many aspects to improve, but there is something thrilling about this platform. 🙏🏼,” Mosseri expressed in his message.

[Meta vows to address Threads’ engagement bait issue](https://mashable.com/article/threads-engagement-bait-problem).

Threads made its debut last summer, coinciding with a large departure from Twitter after Elon Musk took ownership of the platform and renamed it X.

While Threads is frequently seen as a possible substitute for Twitter/X, the two platforms fulfill distinct roles, as indicated by the user statistics. For context, Musk [stated in May](https://x.com/elonmusk/status/1793779530282443086) that X has 600 million monthly active users, with roughly half utilizing the platform daily. However, the validity of this assertion is questionable. A [report from the *Financial Times*](https://mashable.com/article/x-twitter-global-daily-active-users-stall-under-elon-musk) indicates that user engagement on X has declined since Musk’s takeover. In contrast, Threads seems to be experiencing rapid growth.
