What Is Connections?
Connections is a daily word game from The New York Times that has rapidly attracted an online following. Developed with the assistance of associate puzzle editor Wyna Liu, the game challenges players to find groups of four words that share a common theme.
You can engage with Connections on both desktop and mobile browsers. Each puzzle lays out 16 words, and your aim is to categorize them into four groups of four according to shared traits. These categories can span from book titles and countries to software types or idiomatic expressions.
But be cautious: while several words may appear to belong together, only one arrangement is correct. Guess right, and the group vanishes from the grid. Guess wrong, and it counts as a mistake—you have only four attempts before the game concludes.
To facilitate gameplay, participants can shuffle the board for a different view. Each group is also color-coded for difficulty: yellow is the easiest, followed by green, blue, and purple. And similar to Wordle, you can share your outcomes on social media.
