What Is Connections?
Connections is a daily word puzzle from the New York Times, developed with assistance from associate puzzle editor Wyna Liu. Accessible on both desktop and mobile, the game showcases a grid of 16 words. The objective? Organize them into four groups of four, each connected by a shared theme.
Though some words might appear to fit different categories, only one correct arrangement exists. Guess a group accurately, and those words will vanish from the board. Err, and it will count against your total—you have a maximum of four mistakes before the game concludes.
To aid in identifying patterns, you can rearrange the board. Each category is color-coded by level of difficulty: yellow (easiest), green, blue, and purple (hardest). Similar to Wordle, you have the option to share your results on social media.
