What Is Connections?
Connections is a daily word puzzle showcased in The New York Times Games section. Developed with the support of associate puzzle editor Wyna Liu, the game has gained traction on social media thanks to its witty word associations and shareable outcomes.
The game is accessible on both desktop and mobile web browsers. Each puzzle consists of 16 words, and your objective is to categorize them into four groups of four, with each group having a shared theme. These themes can encompass everything from various plant types to renowned individuals, software, or even abstract ideals.
Though some words may appear to fit into multiple categories, there’s only one correct solution. Successfully grouping words will cause them to vanish from the board. If you make a mistake, it will count against your total—you’re permitted up to four incorrect guesses before the game concludes.
To assist you in identifying patterns, you can shuffle the board. Each group is color-coded according to difficulty: yellow (easiest), green, blue, and purple (most challenging). And akin to Wordle, you can share your outcomes with friends on social media.
