The competition for the top Prime Day laptop offers appeared to hinge on the M4 MacBook Air. As the annual exclusive members-only sale approached this week, Amazon listed Apple’s newest 13-inch model at just $849 (available in all color options). This marks a $150 reduction from the M4 MacBook Air’s relatively low MSRP of $999, a substantial markdown for a well-liked laptop that was released just in March.
I anticipated it would be challenging for Amazon to surpass that deal once Prime Day officially kicked off, but I’m pleased to report that I was mistaken. On the second day of the promotion (running live until July 11), I’m noticing a variety of Windows laptops at record-breaking prices. This includes the highly regarded Microsoft Surface Laptop 7 and a selection of gaming laptops equipped with Nvidia GeForce RTX 50 series graphics cards, which were my Prime Day unicorns. I genuinely didn’t foresee Amazon putting any of these on sale, let alone at such steep discounts.

As Mashable’s laptop expert (and a person who’s been covering Prime Day since 2019), I wish to provide a few quick reminders to assist you in making informed shopping choices when purchasing a significant investment such as a computer. One is to steer clear of third-party sellers on Amazon, who might have their own customer service rules or engage in questionable selling practices. Another is to double-check prices with other retailers to confirm Amazon’s deals — it sometimes lists incorrect MSRPs — and to ensure you receive the best price available. Notably, Best Buy stands as Amazon’s largest competitor regarding laptop offers. It’s currently conducting a Black Friday in July sale in conjunction with Prime Day until July 13.
Below, I’ve compiled the best Prime Day laptop offers I’ve encountered thus far on Amazon. I’ll be updating my selections throughout the week as Amazon introduces more promotions, so be sure to check back often. Note: Offers marked with a 🔥 have reached an all-time low price, while strikethrough offers were out of stock or expired at the time of writing.
Top MacBook offer:
– Apple MacBook Air, 13-inch (M4, 16GB RAM, 256GB SSD) – $849 at Amazon (Save $150)
Why it’s appealing:
Read Mashable’s complete review of the 13-inch Apple MacBook Air (M4).
The new 13-inch MacBook Air is our premier budget choice for Apple fans and a recipient of a Mashable Choice Award. “It’s powerful, silent, and features several essential upgrades,” including a 12MP webcam and support for two external displays, stated senior editor Stan Schroeder. He awarded it an overall rating of 4.5/5.
Amazon’s $849 offer applies to every color of the base configuration with 16GB of RAM and 256GB of SSD storage. The Sky Blue variant briefly fell to an even lower $829 in late June, but I have no hesitation in endorsing it at its present price: It’s an excellent offer on a popular new laptop that’s already fairly priced.
