The courageous group of toys in *Toy Story* has faced formidable foes throughout their initial four films. Sid, known for his destructive tendencies toward toys, established a significant benchmark for *Toy Story* villains, whereas Lots-o’-Huggin’ Bear from *Toy Story 3* emerged as one of Pixar’s most infamous figures due to his oppressive dominion over the daycare.
In the forthcoming *Toy Story 5*, helmed by Andrew Stanton and co-directed by Kenna Harris, the toys may confront their most daunting obstacle yet: technology.
The *Toy Story 5* teaser reveals a new present for Bonnie Anderson, a Lilypad, a frog-themed smart tablet that instills fear in Woody (voiced by Tom Hanks), Buzz Lightyear (voiced by Tim Allen), and the rest of the toys. Their cherished child is on the verge of becoming an iPad kid, leaving the traditional toys anxious about their fate.
Greta Lee lends her voice to Lilypad, while Joan Cusack and Tony Hale reprise their roles as Jessie and Forky. At Destination D23, Pixar disclosed that Conan O’Brien will voice Smarty Pants, a potty training toy.
Attendees of Destination D23 witnessed the film’s opening scene, which features a legion of Buzz Lightyears trapped in a defective play mode on a deserted island. They, alongside Lilypad, will act as antagonists. How everything ties together remains unclear until next summer.
*Toy Story 5* premieres in theaters on June 19, 2026.
