HBO has released the ultimate trailer for *A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms*, providing the most detailed look yet at the Ashford Meadow tournament.

The tournament, featuring jousting and swordplay, is pivotal to George R.R. Martin’s novella *The Hedge Knight*, from which *A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms* is adapted. In the narrative, newly knighted Ser Duncan the Tall (Peter Claffey), known as “Dunk,” travels to Ashford Meadow to secure finances and possibly some knightly renown.

Throughout his adventure, Dunk encounters Egg (Dexter Sol Ansell), an enthusiastic young boy eager to become his squire. This initiates a Westerosi buddy comedy that carries a lighter atmosphere than either *Game of Thrones* or *House of the Dragon*. Chronologically, *A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms* takes place between the two.

Yet, despite its more cheerful tone, Dunk and Egg confront peril. Dunk finds himself in danger as Prince Aerion Targaryen (Finn Bennett) wants him eliminated. You know the saying about how the gods toss a coin for every Targaryen born to determine their sanity? The coin was not in Aerion’s favor, creating complications for Dunk as he becomes Aerion’s prey.
