Waking up without memory is tough enough, but doing so on the harsh terrain of an alien world? That’s likely the least desirable scenario anyone could imagine for such a situation.

Sadly, that’s precisely the predicament Riya (portrayed by Eiza González from 3 Body Problem) encounters in Ash, a sci-fi/horror film by Flying Lotus. The film subverts the conventional space horror tale by starting with a solitary survivor and revealing the narrative in reverse. Heightening the suspense is Aaron Paul, who portrays a rescuer whose reliability is far from guaranteed. With this captivating premise, Ash is poised to be an essential viewing experience.
