As the festive season draws near, Uber has rolled out a variety of new features intended to simplify airport travel. Among these updates is a new ride choice called “UberXXL,” an extension of UberX Share to airport locations, and improvements to Uber Reserve.
True to its name, **UberXXL** caters to travelers with additional luggage, making it ideal for holiday journeys or getaways. This option provides larger vehicles with added trunk capacity, ensuring ample space for your bags as well as your travel companions. No more struggling with suitcases on your lap! However, access to UberXXL is restricted to **Uber One** subscribers, who pay a monthly fee of $10. Besides utilizing UberXXL, members of Uber One benefit from advantages like waived delivery fees for Uber Eats. Currently, UberXXL is accessible at 60 airports globally, including 40 in the United States.
Uber has also extended **UberX Share** to chosen airports, offering a budget-friendly alternative for travelers. UberX Share pairs you with another passenger traveling toward the same destination, allowing for ride cost-sharing. This can result in savings of up to 25% compared to a private Uber ride. Even if a match is not found, riders still benefit from the reduced fare. UberX Share is now operational at airports in cities such as Austin, Denver, Newark, Washington D.C. (Dulles), Miami, New Orleans, Phoenix, and San Francisco, along with international locations in Amsterdam and Madrid, with additional sites forthcoming.
For those with early flights or packed schedules, **Uber Reserve** provides a handy solution by enabling users to book rides ahead of time. A new feature allows riders to enter their flight information when securing a ride, offering suggestions on the optimal departure time. Furthermore, Uber Reserve is capable of monitoring your flight and can alert you to modify your booking in case of delays. Another beneficial update is the option to book **multi-stop rides**, which is ideal for picking up family members or making a quick stop before heading to the airport.
These enhancements aim to streamline airport travel and reduce stress, perfectly timed for the bustling holiday season.
