The eagerly awaited Samsung mixed reality headset, formerly referred to as Project Moohan, has officially been unveiled as the Samsung Galaxy XR. At present, this release is restricted to the U.S. and South Korea, leaving enthusiasts in other locations eagerly anticipating its debut. Thankfully, the wait may not extend much longer after the October 21 launch in these two nations.
As per a report from SamMobile, Samsung is gearing up for a 2026 introduction of the Galaxy XR in Canada, France, Germany, and the UK. This roster is still in flux, with the potential for more countries to be added to the 2026 rollout.
Samsung appears to be favoring a gradual international launch strategy for the Galaxy XR instead of a simultaneous worldwide release. The Galaxy VR serves as Samsung’s answer to the Meta Quest headset and the Apple Vision Pro. With a price tag of $1,799.99 in the U.S., it positions itself between its rivals, as Meta provides a more economical option starting at $299.99, while Apple’s Vision Pro is priced at $3,499.
Pricing for the approaching international markets remains elusive, but it is anticipated to align closely with the pricing in the U.S. and South Korea. For residents of Canada and the EU, the countdown is almost over, and soon you will have the chance to experience the Samsung Galaxy XR in person, just as Mashable did in their Galaxy XR review.
