What Sa Nguyen Utilizes to Create Content for 4.3 Million TikTok Followers

Sa Nguyen rose to fame on TikTok through her mukbang videos, but the college student from Orange County, CA has broadened her presence beyond the eating trend. She produces lifestyle vlogs and shares content related to running, music festivals, her dogs, and more.

During Meta Night Out at VidCon 2025, we chatted with Nguyen about the technology she employs to amass an audience of 4.3 million followers on TikTok, 263,000 on Instagram, and 38,000 subscribers on YouTube.

Nguyen shared with Mashable that she utilizes her phone for TikTok videos as it creates a “FaceTime vibe” appreciated by her followers. She edits her content directly on the TikTok app or the Instagram Edits app.

“If I’m creating an Instagram reel, I’ll utilize edits and post it straight from edits,” she explained, mentioning that she occasionally employs CapCut as well.

Nonetheless, she doesn’t rely solely on her phone for all her content creation. She incorporates her Alix Earle light and Apple’s wired headphones, but she has three preferred cameras.

**Alix Earle light**

The well-known TikTok Alix Earle light comes from a brand named Newmowa. It’s a clip-on LED light favored by creators like Nguyen.

**Canon PowerShot V10**

Nguyen opts for her Canon PowerShot V10 for vlogging while on the move. She appreciates its ability to stand independently at any angle. When using her Canon, she edits with Final Cut Pro.

**Canon XS740**

For vacations where she wants both photos and videos, she uses the Canon XS740. She also edits this content using Final Cut Pro.

**Leica D-LUX 8**

For her photography needs, Nguyen favors the Leica D-LUX 8. “It’s so, so good for photos,” she remarked. While she primarily uses the D-LUX for still images, it is also capable of shooting 4K video.

**Final Cut Pro**

The widely-used Mac video editing software can be found on the Mac App Store, and users can also register for a limited free trial.
